Discounts and Promotions

New customers can be attracted to your company with a good deal. Offering specials and first-time customer discounts is a great way to get more customers introduced to your company and keep them coming back. Oftentimes, consumers appreciate an incentive when shopping somewhere new and once they purchase their first item you’ll be able to better target them for future marketing based on their purchases.

Ask for Referrals

One of the greatest resources for attracting new customers is through your current customer base. Consider building referral practices into the sales process, like offering loyal and long-standing customers incentives or discounts for each new customer they bring in. This can be an especially effective practice when done through follow up emails to make sure customers are happy with their purchases.

Network

Just like referrals, word of mouth is one of the best ways to increase your customer base. Consider joining a trade association and engaging with the people in your community. If you have kids, PTA and school wide events are a fantastic opportunity to get the word out. By participating in community events, you’ll simultaneously be reminding people to come check out your business while showing them you truly care about the community and its residents.

Always remember to approach each interaction with the intent to show others what your business has to offer rather than what your business can gain from them. Authenticity while networking is integral for success.
