Save Time Before Your Next Business Trip

Business trips can feel like a hurricane-force gust of wind is ready to knock you down. Combining the stress of your normal workday, along with hassles of getting to the airport on time, and battling security and potential flight delays, can bring on anxiety in the most calm and collected employee. If you find that you’re always rushing and are afraid of forgetting something, here are a few things you can do before you leave.

Do Your Research

If you’re flying, research the plane you’ll be on and see whether or not you’ll have access to Wi-Fi. Knowing this will allow you to determine the type of work you can complete during your flight. If you generally get around using a ridesharing service, like Uber or Lyft, check to make sure it’s available in the city you’re visiting. Also, try to travel with just carry-on items to save time getting on and off the plane. Finding off-site parking that takes you directly to your terminal can also save you time and money.

Stick With the Same Hotel & Airline if Possible

No matter where you’re traveling, sticking with the same companies for transportation and accommodations will help you save time. You’ll be able to access priority lines for check-in, and may even be able to get through airport security quicker if you fly the same airline. Stick with one brand for your hotel and air travel so that way you can earn perks that will allow you to save time and have a better travel experience.

Pack All of Your Electronics Together

Find a small bag or organizer for all of your cords and devices and put them in your carry-on. This will allow you to keep all of your devices charged in transit.

Pack Two Days Before Leaving

This will ensure that you have enough time to see if you’re missing something vital, like a travel curling iron or other toiletries. You’ll also have time to plan what you’ll wear each day. Don’t wait until the last minute to pack!
